How to Connect to the Internet Using MSN

This article describes how to connect to the Internet using MSN, The Microsoft Network, as your Internet service provider (ISP).

To connect to the Internet using MSN, use any of the following methods.
Connect to Both MSN and the Internet
- Double-click the MSN icon on the desktop.
- In the MSN Sign-In screen, type your MSN member identification in the Member ID box, type your password in the Password box, and then click Connect.
Connect to the Internet Only
- Click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Dial-Up Networking.
- Double-click the MSN icon.
- In the User Name box, type "MSN/<Member ID>" (without quotation marks), where <Member ID> is your MSN member identification.
- In the Password box, type your password, and then click Connect.
- After you connect, double-click the The Internet icon to view content on the Internet.
NOTE: If you connect only to the Internet and then try to view MSN content or e-mail, the MSN Sign-In screen appears. To view this information, you must type your Member ID and password, and then click Connect.
