How to Reset Your MSN Password

This article describes how to reset your MSN, The Microsoft Network, password.

To reset your MSN password, use any of the following methods.

Telephone

  1. Dial the following number, and then listen for the recording:

          (800) 471-1370
  2. Dial the credit card number that you used to open your MSN account, and then press the number sign (#) key.
  3. Verify that the number you dialed is correct, and then press 1.
  4. Your new password is provided right away. Make sure to write down the new password.
  5. Hang up the telephone.

Personal Computer

  1. Double-click the MSN icon on the desktop.
  2. Click New.
  3. Click the "I have my Credit Card Information" check box to select it, and then click OK.
  4. Type your Member ID in the Member ID box.
  5. Type your first name in the First Name box.
  6. Type your last name in the Last Name box.
  7. Type the credit card number that you used to open your MSN account in the Credit Card Number box.
  8. Type the name on the credit card that you used to open your MSN account in the Name Printed On Card box.
  9. Click Submit.
  10. Write down the new password, and then click OK.
  11. In the Password box, type your new password, and then click Connect.
