Article ID: 173328

Article Last Modified on 8/28/1999

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Message Queue Server 1.0

This article was previously published under Q173328

SUMMARY

Microsoft Message Queue Server (MSMQ) 1.0 does not operate as a transport for DCOM.

MORE INFORMATION

This mode of operation would be desirable to allow asynchronous calls to remote COM objects. Currently, MSMQ operates as a transport for asynchronous remote procedure calls (RPCs), and also functions as a transport for Microsoft Exchange Server by means of the Exchange connector.

This functionality is being considered for a future release of MSMQ. See the MSMQ Web site mentioned below for future announcements.
