SYMPTOMS
The following error message appears when you try to open Paint:
3842: /usr/softimage/3D/bin/soft:rld:fatal error attempt to access to unresolvable symbol /usr./softimage/3D/dso/sil/ilImageARTISAN.so:
flexlm_unscrambled
CAUSE
You have upgraded SOFTIMAGE 3D version 3.5 or version 3.51 to SOFTIMAGE 3D version 3.7 and installed it in the same directory without removing the old version first. When Paint detects these old files, that are no longer valid in SI 3D version 3.7, it crashes.
RESOLUTION
You must remove the following three files that are located in $SI_LOCATION/3D/dso/sil:
IlImageARTISAN.so IlImageEVEREST.so IlImageMI.so
STATUS
This behavior is by design.
