PRB: Wireframe Color Box - WARNING: open it before!

SYMPTOMS
When you click on the Wireframe Color Box in the lower-left corner of the display, the following error message appears on the Status Line:
WARNING: open it before!
CAUSE
You are attempting to select a color before the Wireframe Color Box it is properly opened. The Wireframe Color Box appears dimmed when it is not activated.
RESOLUTION
Activate the color box by clicking the gray bar on its left side and clicking the desired color.
