SYMPTOMS
When you send e-mail to a Microsoft Outlook 97 user, you may receive two Out of Office replies.
CAUSE
The person whose e-mail account sent the Out of Office message installed a beta copy of the Rules Wizard.
RESOLUTION
To correct this problem have the user who sent the Out of Office message follow these steps:
- Start Outlook.
- On the Tools menu, click Out of Office Assistant.
- In the "These rules will be applied to incoming messages while you are out of the office" list, click to select the ALL MESSAGES rule and then click Delete Rule.
NOTE: the ALL MESSAGES rule will not have any conditions attached.
Other people should no longer see two Out of Office messages from this account.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the beta version of the Microsoft Outlook 97 Rules Wizard. This problem is fixed in the final release.
