SYMPTOMS

When you are participating in a NetMeeting conference and another participant sends you a file, the file may not arrive. The File Transfer dialog box may appear briefly and then disappear.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you are typing in the Chat window when the other participant sends you a file. If you press the D key when the File Transfer dialog box opens, the incoming file is deleted.

RESOLUTION

Do not type in the Chat window while you are waiting for a file to be sent to you. After the transfer has started, click the Chat window to make it active and then continue typing.

MORE INFORMATION

When the File Transfer dialog box appears, the D key is the shortcut to delete the incoming file. If you inadvertently press the D key when the File Transfer dialog box appears, the file is deleted and it may appear that the file transfer never started.
