Article ID: 172448

Article Last Modified on 11/9/2000

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft PowerPoint 97 Standard Edition

This article was previously published under Q172448

SYMPTOMS

When you insert an object into your presentation and display it as an icon, the correct colors are displayed in a Slide Show. However, once any animation is applied, the icon is displayed in black and white when viewed in a Slide Show.

This symptom occurs if you run the presentation on a computer running Microsoft Windows NT, versions 3.51 or 4.0. It does not matter which display settings you use. This symptom does not occur on Microsoft Windows 95.

WORKAROUND

Do not apply any animation effect to the object icon.

MORE INFORMATION

For more information about animation, click the Office Assistant, type "Animation," click Search, and then click to view "About animating text and objects."

NOTE: If the Assistant is hidden, click the Office Assistant button on the Standard toolbar. If PowerPoint Help is not installed on your computer, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
