Cannot Start MSN E-mail from Desktop

SYMPTOMS
When you double-click the MSN, The Microsoft Network, E-mail icon on the desktop, you may receive no response.
CAUSE
The Mailnews.exe file may be damaged or missing.
RESOLUTION
Remove and reinstall the Microsoft Internet Mail and News components of MSN. To do so, follow these steps:
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- On the Install/Uninstall tab, click Internet Mail And News 1.0.
- Click Add/Remove. When you are prompted to continue, click Yes.
- If you are prompted to restart the computer, click Yes.
- Insert the MSN CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive. If the Installation Wizard starts, click Cancel, and then click Yes.
- Double-click My Computer.
- Right-click the CD-ROM drive icon, and then click Explore.
- Double-click the Msnsetup folder.
- Double-click the Compnts folder.
- Double-click the Mailnews.exe file.
- If you are prompted to restart the computer, click Yes.
