MSN Mail Does Not Start Microsoft Outlook

SYMPTOMS

After you install Microsoft Outlook, MSN, The Microsoft Network, may continue to use Microsoft Exchange to send and receive e-mail.

CAUSE

Microsoft Internet Explorer is configured to use Windows Messaging (also known as Microsoft Exchange) as its default mail service.

RESOLUTION

Configure Internet Explorer to use Outlook as its default mail service. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click the The Internet icon on your desktop, and then click Properties.
  2. Click the Programs tab.
  3. In the Mail box, click Microsoft Outlook.
  4. Click OK.
