SUMMARY
MSN, The Microsoft Network, offers the RSACI (Recreational Software Advisory Council) rating system. You can use the RSACI rating system to decide which MSN programming is suitable for viewing, just as you would use movie ratings to decide which movies are suitable for viewing.
MORE INFORMATION
To limit the content that users of your computer are allowed to view on MSN and the Internet, follow these steps:
- Click the MSN logo in the upper-left corner of Program Viewer, and then click Options.
- On the Security tab, click Settings.
- Type your supervisor password, and then click OK.
- On the Ratings tab, click an RSACI category and set the ratings level that meets your needs, and then click OK.
- On the Security tab, click Enable Ratings.
- Type your supervisor password, and then click OK.
- Click OK until you return to Program Viewer.
Be sure to write down your supervisor password and store it in a safe place. For your protection, this password is highly secure. If you forget it, you must reinstall Windows 95 to create a new one.
NOTE: Although all MSN created content is rated, many sites on the Internet have not yet been rated. To view Internet content that has not been rated, use the following steps:
- Click the MSN logo in the upper-left corner of Program Viewer, and then click Options.
- On the Security tab, click Settings.
- Type your supervisor password, and then click OK.
- On the General tab, click the "Users can see sites which have no ratings" check box to select it. Otherwise, you need to type your supervisor password each time you attempt to view unrated content.
- Click OK until you return to Program Viewer.
