SYMPTOMS

When you print an article that contains a line art (black and white) drawing, the drawing may not print.

Articles that contain drawings that may not print on certain printers include the following:

  • awl
  • glyph
  • baneberry
  • bargello


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Bookshelf 98 for Macintosh. Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, obtain an updated printer driver from the printer manufacturer.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, use these steps to copy the drawing to another program that can print images (such as Microsoft Word).

  1. Open the article that contains the line art drawing you want to print.
  2. Press and hold down the CTRL key, and then click and hold down the mouse button over the drawing. On the menu that appears, click Copy.
  3. Switch to the program where you want to copy the drawing.
  4. On the Edit menu, click Paste.

You can now print the line art drawing from within this program.
