SYMPTOMS

SQL Server Setup does not show drives Y or Z as possible installation locations.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, rename the drive letter to a letter other than Y or Z.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Server 6.0 and 6.5.
