SUMMARY

The default forms in Outlook for appointments, contacts, journal entries, and tasks contain a check box for marking an item as private. This check box makes it possible to hide personal information by making an item only visible to its owner.

MORE INFORMATION

If you have given another person delegate access to any of your folders, you can hide personal information by using the following steps:

NOTE: To give another person delegate access to your folders, you must be using Outlook with Microsoft Exchange Server.

  1. Open the item you want to make private.
  2. Click to select the Private check box. (Place a check mark in the box.)
  3. Click "Save and Close."

NOTE: Although the item marked private cannot be viewed or modified by anyone other than the owner of the item, it can be printed or exported using the Import/Export feature on the File menu.
