Adding an Internet Shortcut to the Links Toolbar
To add an Internet shortcut to the Links toolbar, use either of the following methods:
Method 1
- In Internet Explorer, open the Web page you want to add to the Links toolbar.
- On the Favorites menu, click Add To Favorites.
- Click Create In, click the Links folder, and then click OK.
Method 2
Drag the Internet shortcut to an empty area on the Links toolbar. For information about how to create an Internet shortcut to a Web page, see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Moving, Renaming, or Deleting an Internet Shortcut on the Links Toolbar
To move, rename, or delete an Internet shortcut on the Links toolbar, follow these steps:
- Double-click My Computer on the desktop.
- On the Favorites menu, click Organize Favorites.
- Double-click the Links folder to open it.
- Click the Web page link you want to modify, and then click Move, Rename, or Delete.
- After you finish the move, rename, or delete operation, click Close.
NOTE: In Internet Explorer 4.0 and 4.01, you can also delete an Internet shortcut on the Links toolbar by using one of the following methods:
- On the Links toolbar, right-click the Internet shortcut, and then click Delete.
- Drag the Internet shortcut from the Links toolbar to the Recycle Bin.
Adding a Links Toolbar to the Taskbar
If you are using the Windows Desktop Update, you can add a Links toolbar to the taskbar. To add a Links toolbar to the taskbar, right-click the taskbar, point to Toolbars, and then click Links.
