PPT97: Semitransparent Color in Grouped Shape Lost in Slide Show

SYMPTOMS

When you view a slide show in Microsoft PowerPoint 97 for Windows running on Windows 95, some objects with semi-transparent fills do not appear semi- transparent.

This problem does not occur if you run PowerPoint 97 on Windows NT.



CAUSE

This problem occurs when you group the objects and then apply a custom or Preset animation effect, such as Flying.



WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer 97 to show the presentation. For information about how to obtain PowerPoint Viewer 97, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

NOTE: PowerPoint Viewer 97 is not the same viewer that ships with Microsoft PowerPoint 97 for Windows and Microsoft Office 97 for Windows.



STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft PowerPoint 97 SR-1.
