SYMPTOMS
When you click Special Papers on the View menu, you receive the following message:
CAUSE
Your printer is set up to print to a paper size other than letter size (8.5"x11") paper. The PaperDirect papers that Publisher uses are setup for letter size paper.
RESOLUTION
Change the paper size to letter, using these steps:
- On the File menu, click Print Setup.
- In the Paper Size list, click Letter.
- Click OK.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Publisher 98.
MORE INFORMATION
Publisher automatically formats the paper size for a new publication according to the default paper size set in the Printer Properties dialog box. To locate this dialog box, click Print on the File menu, and then click Properties.
Be sure to use a Special Paper design that is compatible with the orientation of your document. For example, if you use a portrait-oriented paper design for a landscape document, Publisher simply rotates the paper rather than resizing the layout to fit the design.
The Special Paper command on the View menu is not available if your publication is set up to print to an outside printer.
For more information about PaperDirect papers, see the PaperDirect catalogue included in your Publisher box. In the United States or Canada, call 1-800-A-PAPERS or 201-271-9300 for more information.
