SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Excel 97, if you run a Visual Basic for Applications macro that uses the CreateObject method to create a RealAudio ActiveX control object, you may receive the following error message:
If you click Details, you receive an error message similar to the following:
CAUSE
This problem occur if the following conditions are true:
- The workbook contains a reference to the RealAudio ActiveX Control Library, RAOCX32.DLL.
-and- The macro contains code similar to the following:
Dim X As RealAudio Set X = CreateObject("RealAudio.RealAudio(tm) ActiveX Control " _ & "(32-bit)")
WORKAROUND
Do not use the CreateObject method to create a RealAudio ActiveX control in Microsoft Excel 97.
MORE INFORMATION
RealAudio ActiveX controls do not currently support the use of the CreateObject method. Also, because RealAudio ActiveX controls do not support the IDataObject OLE interface, you cannot insert them into worksheets in Microsoft Excel 97. You can use them only in UserForms in Microsoft Excel 97.
