SYMPTOMS

You are unable to open a Microsoft Project 4.0 or 4.1 macro located in a module if the module name contains more than 31 characters.

WORKAROUND

Shorten the module name to 31 or fewer characters. To change the name of the module, follow these steps:

  1. In Microsoft Project 4.0 or 4.1, point to More Views on the View menu, and then click Organizer.
  2. Click the Modules tab.
  3. In the Module list, click the module you want to rename, and click Rename.
  4. Enter a name that is 31 or fewer characters and then click OK.
  5. Click Close twice.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft Project listed above.
