When you use the Microsoft Office Setup program to add or remove a Microsoft Excel add-in, any custom toolbars that you created may be deleted.

This problem occurs if you use Office Setup to add or remove any of the following add-ins:

  • Analysis ToolPak
  • AutoSave
  • Conditional Sum Wizard
  • File Conversion Wizard
  • Lookup Wizard
  • Report Manager
  • Solver
  • Template Wizard with Data Tracking

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Office for Windows, Service Release 1.

For more information about installing or uninstalling Microsoft Excel, click the Office Assistant, type uninstall click Search, and then click to view "Install or remove individual components of Microsoft Office or Microsoft Excel."

NOTE: If the Assistant is hidden, click the Office Assistant button on the Standard toolbar. If Microsoft Help is not installed on your computer, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
