XL97: Custom Toolbars Are Lost After Uninstalling Add-In

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Microsoft Office Setup program to add or remove a Microsoft Excel add-in, any custom toolbars that you created may be deleted.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if you use Office Setup to add or remove any of the following add-ins:

  • Analysis ToolPak
  • AutoSave
  • Conditional Sum Wizard
  • File Conversion Wizard
  • Lookup Wizard
  • Report Manager
  • Solver
  • Template Wizard with Data Tracking


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Office for Windows, Service Release 1.
