To send a greeting card using Greetings Workshop version 1.0, you will need the following:
- An installed copy of the Greetings Workshop Internet Delivery application
- An e-mail program that is MAPI-compliant
Both of these requirements are discussed in this article.
Greetings Workshop Internet Delivery
You can install the Greetings Workshop Internet Delivery application from either of the following locations:
On the internet go to this address:

On your Greetings Workshop CD do the following:
Insert the Greetings Workshop CD into your CD-ROM drive.
Click on Start then point to Programs.
Click on Windows Explorer.
Click the plus symbol (+) for your CD-ROM drive. It should be labeled:
GreetingsW.
Click once on the Internet folder.
On the right-side pane, double-click on GWIDPack.EXE.
NOTE: If you do not locate an Internet folder on your Greetings Workshop CD, download the application from the internet web address above.

MAPI-compliant e-mail
To send a greeting card using Greetings Workshop Internet Delivery requires that your e-mail program be Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) MAPI-compliant. However, if your e-mail program is not MAPI- compliant, you can still send your e-mail greeting.
If Your E-mail Program Is not MAPI-Compliant
To send your greeting if your e-mail program is not MAPI-compliant, follow these steps:
Create your greeting card in Greetings Workshop.
Start Greetings Workshop Internet Delivery to prepare the card for electronic delivery.
When you reach the point in Internet Delivery where you are given the option to send the greeting, choose Exit instead of “Send Greeting by E-mail.”
Open your e-mail program, and address a new message to the recipient of the greeting.
Insert the following instructions in your e-mail:
NOTE: These instructions are the same even when you use a MAPI- compliant e-mail program.

We recommend that you keep the rest of this message and the attached electronic greeting as is. The text message will help the recipients of this message in viewing this greeting on their computer.
Attached is the electronic edition of a greeting created using Greetings Workshop.
To see this greeting, please follow these steps:
Check that your computer has an Intel x86 or Pentium processor.
Check that your computer is running Microsoft Windows 3.1 or Windows 95 or Windows NT.
Check that you have an Internet Web browser installed on your computer. If you do not have a browser installed see the section titled “To obtain a Web browser.”
If you see an icon at the top of the message, double-click it to see the greeting.
If you do not see an icon, it is possible that your e-mail software received the attachment to the message as separate file. Please refer to your e-mail documentation on how to save attachments from an e-mail message. After you get the greeting as an attachment, double-click the greeting to see it.
To obtain a Web browser
Contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Most Internet Service Providers include access to Internet and an Internet browser as a part of their service.
You can purchase Microsoft Internet Starter Kit from your nearest software retailer. It includes Internet Service from MSN and the Web browser, Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Insert a file into your message as an attachment. Exactly how you do this will depend on the e-mail program you are using.
You will find the file to insert in the C:Files Workshop<project name> folder, where <project name> is the name you gave your card, sign, or such when you created it in Greetings Workshop.
Locate the file with name GW….exe. The exact name will vary, but it will be the only file in the folder with the .exe extension.
Send your message.
