When you run your presentation in Slide Show view, some of the objects in your presentation (text boxes, pictures, drawing objects) may build incorrectly.

The After Animation effect will fail when both of the following custom animation settings are selected for the same object:

  • An After Animation setting is selected on the Effects tab.

  • Automatically is selected under Start Animation on the Timing tab.

NOTE: To locate these animation settings, click Custom Animation on the Slide Show menu.

Use only one of the custom animation settings described in the Cause section of this article. For example, if you want to use the After Animation effect, click Animate and On Mouse Click in the Start Animation section of the Timing tab.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.

For more information about applying custom animation, click Contents And Index on the Help menu, click the Index tab in PowerPoint Help, type the following text

double-click the selected topic and then double-click "About animating text and objects" to go to the "About animating text and objects" topic. If you are unable to find the information you need, ask the Office Assistant.
