CAUSE

The Word 97 Import Converters, Msword8.cnv (Word 6.x) and Mswrd832.cnv (Word 7.x), do not handle OLE objects appropriately when all of the following conditions occur:

  • Initially, the file was created with an OLE object in Word 97.
  • The file is opened in Word 95 using the Word 97 Import Converter.
  • In Word 95, the OLE object is edited in the Picture Editor, saved in Word 95 format, and then closed.
  • The file is opened in Word 97, saved in Word 97 format, and then closed.
  • The file is opened in Word 95 using the Word 97 Import Converter.
