SYMPTOMS

When you return to Microsoft PowerPoint after quitting the Visual Basic Editor, the presentation that was active before you started the Visual Basic Editor is no longer the active presentation.

You have multiple presentations open, and while in the Visual Basic Editor, you switched to the project of another presentation. When you quit the Visual Basic Editor, the active presentation in the Visual Basic Editor becomes the active presentation in PowerPoint.

RESOLUTION

To return to the presentation that was active before you started the Visual Basic Editor, use the Project Explorer to select an item in the project of that presentation, and then quit the Visual Basic Editor.
