PRJ: AutoCorrect Doesn't Work When Entering Note Information

Article ID: 169728

Article Last Modified on 1/19/2007

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Project 2000 Standard Edition
  • Microsoft Project 98 Standard Edition

This article was previously published under Q169728

SYMPTOMS

The text you type in the Notes box on the Notes tab is not automatically corrected by the AutoCorrect feature in Microsoft Project.

NOTE: The Notes tab is available in the Task Information dialog box, the Resource Information dialog box, and the Assignment Information dialog box. To access these dialog boxes, click the appropriate command on the Project menu. The command on the Project menu changes depending on which view you are using.

CAUSE

The AutoCorrect feature does not correct the spelling of text you enter in the Notes box on the Notes tab.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, type the text in the Notes column or Resource Notes column in your table. To insert a Notes column, use the following steps:

  1. On the Insert menu, click Column.
  2. In the Field Name drop-down list, click Notes, and then click OK.

If you are in a task view, such as the Gantt Chart view, when you insert a Notes column, Microsoft Project inserts a Task Notes column. If you are in a resource view, such as the Resource Sheet view, Microsoft Projects inserts a Resource Notes column.

NOTE: To control how AutoCorrect checks your project, click AutoCorrect on the Tools menu.
