PRB: No Text Using Hebrew or Other Glyph-index Fonts |
Q169596
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Win32 Device Driver Kit (DDK) Windows 95
SYMPTOMS
Hebrew, Arabic, and other glyph-index fonts do not print when using a monolithic (non-UniDriver-based) Windows 3.1 printer driver on Windows 95.
CAUSE
Windows 95 does not provide a mechanism for Windows 3.1 drivers to support glyphs on Windows 95.
RESOLUTION
Printer minidrivers from Windows 3.1 and Windows 95 can print glyph-index fonts correctly. UniDriver for Windows 95 provides the proper handling of these fonts for minidrivers.
MORE INFORMATION
Under Windows 3.1, glyphs were converted to bitmaps and sent to printer drivers. This is no longer the case in Windows 95.
