SYMPTOMS
If you open a Microsoft Project 4.0 file in Microsoft Project 98, Microsoft Project 98 will recalculate tasks into milestone (0d duration) tasks.
CAUSE
This problem occurs if the Microsoft Project 4.0 file was created while the Manual calculation option is selected. To locate this option, click Options on the Tools menu, and then click the Calculation tab.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, open the file in Microsoft Project 4.0, and press F9 to recalculate the file, or do the following:
- On the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the Calculation tab.
- Under Calculation, click Automatic.
- Click OK.
