SUMMARY

Unlike earlier versions of Microsoft Graph, Microsoft Graph 97 for Windows does not automatically register itself when you run it. Therefore, if the Graph 97 information in the Microsoft Windows 95 or Windows NT registry is missing or incorrect, you cannot correct the information by running Graph8.exe.

MORE INFORMATION

To register Graph 97 to the Windows 95 or Windows NT registry, run Graph8.exe with the /Regserver switch. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. On the Windows Start menu, point to Programs, and then click the MS-DOS Prompt icon.

NOTE: If you are using Windows NT 4.0, this icon is called Command Prompt.
  2. Type c: and press ENTER.
  3. Type the following, and then press ENTER:

    cd\

  4. Type the following, and then press ENTER:

    cd "program files\microsoft office\office"

  5. Type the following, and then press ENTER:

    graph8.exe /regserver

  6. Type the following, and then press ENTER:

    exit

NOTE: Because Microsoft Graph 97 is a required component for Microsoft Excel 97, Graph8.exe is located in the Office folder instead of in a separate folder. Therefore, you cannot use Microsoft Office 97 Setup to remove and reinstall Graph 97.
