If you attempt to play a file that has been recorded in Microsoft Camcorder 97, the following error message may appear:

MMSYSTEM275 Cannot Find Specified File

You may be unable to locate the saved file.

CAUSE

You may have other screen capture devices loaded that are conflicting with Camcorder 97. This problem may also occur if you have drivers for video capture cards installed when you install Camcorder 97.

RESOLUTION

Remove any video capture devices from the Control Panel and reinstall Camcorder 97.

Steps to Remove Devices from Control Panel

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and click Control Panel.
  2. Click Multimedia.
  3. Click the Advanced tab.
  4. Click to select any device listed under Video Capture Devices and click Properties.
  5. Click Remove and then click OK twice.
  6. Repeat Steps 4 and 5 for all devices listed under Video Capture Devices.
  7. Reinstall Camcorder 97.
