SYMPTOMS
When you are typing text in Microsoft Chat, the text may intermittently appear truncated.
CAUSE
The Comic Sans font has not been registered properly.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
- Restart your computer. When you see the "Starting Windows 95" message, press the F8 key, and then choose Safe Mode Command Prompt Only from the Startup menu.
- When the computer has booted to a command prompt, restart the computer again and start Windows 95 normally. This should register the Comic Sans font correctly.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Chat version 2.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
