SYMPTOMS
If you record a macro to move a command bar to a specific location, the macro recorder does not record any commands. However, you can record commands to turn on, turn off, remove, or add a command bar.
CAUSE
When you record a macro, the macro recorder attempts to analyze the actions and then create the equivalent Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications code. The CommandBar object is a portion of the Microsoft Office 97 object model. PowerPoint does not record code for objects that are not a part of the PowerPoint object model.
RESOLUTION
In PowerPoint 97 all of the toolbars--Standard, Formatting, Drawing, and so forth--in the object model, are part of the CommandBars and CommandBarControls collections. Using the Visual Basic Editor, you can write Visual Basic for Applications code to control the behavior of the CommandBars.
