SYMPTOMS
A computer running Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 2 installed, will crash if the NetBT component receives six or more IP addresses from the WINS Server during the name resolution process.
The following STOP error message appears on the computer that is running Windows NT:
NOTE: The first and fourth parameters may vary depending on you system configuration.
CAUSE
NetBT doesn't allocate enough memory to hold all the IP address that the WINS Server is returning.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 4.0. This problem was corrected in the latest Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 U.S. Service Pack. For information on obtaining the service pack, query on the following word in the Microsoft Knowledge Base (without the spaces):
