SUMMARY
Microsoft Windows NT does not provide server functionality for the UNIX Remote Execute command. The Microsoft Windows NT Resource Kit contains both client and server components to provide similar functionality within a Windows NT environment.

The Remote Command Service (RCMD) provides a secure and robust way to remotely administer and run command-line programs.
RCMD consists of client and server components (Rcmd.exe and Rcmdsvc.exe.) The client is a command-line program. The server component is installed as a service. The RCMD service can be stopped and started locally or remotely. This feature allows you to execute remote commands to be enabled or disabled as desired.
Because it is a service, if RCMD is configured for autostart, it will run whenever the system is running, regardless of whether or not a user is logged on locally.
