SYMPTOMS
When you open a Microsoft PowerPoint for Windows version 4.0 presentation in one of the versions of PowerPoint listed at the beginning of this article, the dimensions of a large custom slide are incorrect. For example, you may see the following results:
Version Result ------------------------------------------------------------------------ PowerPoint 4.0 The Slides Sized For setting is Custom. The Width setting is 22 inches. The Height setting is 10 inches. PowerPoint 7.0 The Slides Sized For setting is On-screen Show. The Width setting is 10 inches. The Height setting is 7.5 inches. PowerPoint 97 The Slides Sized For setting is On-screen Show. The Width setting is 10 inches. The Height setting is 7.5 inches.
CAUSE
These symptoms occur if you saved a PowerPoint 7.0 or 97 presentation as a PowerPoint 4.0 presentation.
RESOLUTION
To correct this problem, obtain Microsoft PowerPoint 97 Service Release 2 (SR-2).
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Office 97 Service Release 2 (SR-2).
