SUMMARY

If you have installed Microsoft Works for Windows 95 onto many computers on a network, you may want to set up and use the same Easy Text formats on all installations. Easy Text is not stored in a file that you can copy or share over the network; it is stored in the Windows 95 Registry. The Registry is unique to every user and is located in the user's local Windows directory. The Easy Text modification to the Registry can be replicated on each computer on the network, giving each installation of Works access to the desired Easy Text.

To install saved Easy Text onto another computer:

  1. From the computer for which you want to make the Easy Text available, go to the location of the registration file. For example, if the registration file was saved onto a network drive, connect to that drive.
  2. Double-click on the registration file. You should see the following message:

That computer should now be able to use the Easy Text.

NOTE: When you update the registry with Easy Text in this way, any old entries in the registry for Easy Text are lost.
