SYMPTOMS
In a Visual Basic procedure in Microsoft Excel, if you use the Enabled property of the MenuItem object to make a submenu unavailable (dimmed), the menu item appears available when the worksheet window is maximized.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs if the window of the workbook that contains the unavailable submenu item is maximized when you choose the submenu item. The item appears unavailable as expected when the window is restored.
Note that this is not a problem in Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh.
WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, you must restore the active workbook window before you choose the submenu item. To restore a workbook window, press CTRL+F5.
