SYMPTOMS

Works may return the error

Integer Divide by Zero or Overflow Error

when you do one of the following:

  • Click Print or Print Preview on the File menu.
  • Click Options on the Tools menu.
  • Open a file in Works.
  • Select a new font for a Works file.
  • Start Works.

This error can be caused by any of the following conditions:

A Corrupt or Incompatible Printer Driver

The following drivers have been reported to cause this problem:

Hewlett-Packard (HP) DeskJet Series driver version 2.0 or 2.1.
Hewlett-Packard (HP) DeskJet 500 Series driver version 4.0
Hewlett-Packard (HP) DeskJet 520 driver version 4.0
Hewlett-Packard (HP) DesignJet
Hewlett-Packard (HP) Deskjet 320
LaserMaster 1800PMR
Linotronic 530
Linotronic 330
NEC SilentWriter 95F versionb 2011.111
Panasonic KX-P1180
Panasonic KX-P2023 (Windows NT)
Xerox 4003 & 4004
The Primavera Plot driver that installs with the Primavera for Windows scheduling program.
The driver installed by Atech Software's Publisher's PowerPak

A Corrupt or Incompatible Video Driver

The following drivers have been reported to cause this problem:

IBM 4029 Accelarator
Trident 1024 x 768 256-color video driver dated before 2/3/93

RESOLUTION

If the problem is caused by one or more of the conditions listed above, you can resolve the problem by:

  1. Reinstalling or updating the printer driver or installing another compatible printer driver (such as the Generic Text Only) in the Windows Control Panel.
  2. Reinstalling or updating the video driver or installing another compatible video driver (such as the Standard VGA driver) in Windows Setup.
  3. Disabling or removing any third-party fonts or font managers on the system.
