SYMPTOMS
When you run Windows for Workgroups 3.11 with 32-bit disk access enabled on Gateway P5-60 with a 540 megabyte IDE drive, you may receive the following error message: Microsoft Windows 32-bit disk driver (WDCTRL) validation failed at phase 03,0F.
CAUSE
This situation occurs if your CMOS drive configuration settings are set to AUTO-CONFIG.
RESOLUTION
To correct this problem, manually set your CMOS drive configuration parameters.
