SYMPTOMS
When opening a rich text format (RTF) file in Works 3.0, one of the following error messages may occur:

When opening an RTF file in Works 2.x, one of the following error messages may occur:

CAUSE
The general protection (GP) fault occurs if the line for the MSWORKS3WIN converter is missing from the [MS Text Converters] section of the WIN.INI file.
The "Conversion File not Available" occurs if the line for the MSWORKSWIN converter is missing from the [MS Text Converters] section of the WIN.INI file.
The "Cannot load conversion files" error messages occur if the line for the MSWORKS3WIN (Works 3.0) or the MSWORKSWIN (Works 2.x) converters are pointing to an incorrect location on the hard drive.
RESOLUTION
- Make sure the MSWORKS3WIN (or MSWORKSWIN for Works 2.x) converter line is in the WIN.INI file.
- Make sure the path for the MSWORKS3WIN (or MSWORKSWIN for Works 2.x) converter is pointing to the correct converter and the converter is in the location specified by the path.
An example of the necessary entry in the WIN.INI file is:
MSWorks3Win=Works 3.0 for Windows,C:\WINDOWS\MSAPPS\TEXTCONV\wks3win.cnv,wps
