SUMMARY
Microsoft Works 3.0 for the Macintosh includes file converters that allow Works to open from or save as the following Microsoft Word formats:
- Word 1.x and 2.x for Windows
- Word 3.x, 4.x, and 5.x for MS-DOS
- Word 4.x and 5.x for the Macintosh

To convert from Works 3.0 to any of these formats, simply choose the appropriate file format option in the File Save As menu when saving your document. To convert from any of these formats into Works, simply open the Word document, and your document will be recognized and converted automatically.
Converting to Word 6.0 for the Macintosh
To convert a document from Works 3.0 for the Macintosh to Word 6.0 for the Macintosh, save from Works as a normal Works 3.0 document. To convert a document from Works 3.0 for the Macintosh to Word 6.0 for Windows, save from Works as Word 2.x for Windows format and open from this format into Word 6.0. To convert Word 6.0 documents to Works 3.0 for the Macintosh, save the Word 6.0 document in Word 2.x for Windows format and open from this format into Works.
Converting to Word 6.0 for MS-DOS
To convert a document from Works 3.0 for the Macintosh to Word 6.0 for MS-DOS, save from Works as Word 5.x for MS-DOS format and open from this format into Word 6.0. To convert Word 6.0 for MS-DOS documents to Works 3.0 for the Macintosh, save the Word 6.0 in Word for MS-DOS 5.x format and open from this format into Works.
NOTE: Formatting features not supported by Works 3.0 for the Macintosh will not be retained when opening a Word document.
