XENIX System Receives Unresolved Externals

Problem: Various users have reported that after installing the Microsoft XENIX FORTRAN/Pascal compilers, if they installed new versions of the C compiler libraries (for example, one user installed the newer version of the IBM Xenix Maintenance kit, while other users encountered this after installing a new version of Microsoft C), they begin receiving unresolved externals. (The most often reported unresolved external was __acrtused.)
Response: The current version of the Microsoft XENIX Software Development System (i.e., new libraries) will contain an updated copy of the C libraries which should work correctly with the compilers. We will be testing this against the code that we have received from users to verify that the new libraries do correct these unresolved externals. A copy of these new libraries will be sent out to all licensed XENIX users.
