SUMMARY
In the Workbook Contents window in Microsoft Excel versions 4.x, an icon is displayed to the left of each filename to indicate its file type (a worksheet, macro sheet, or chart sheet). If there is no icon displayed, the file may be a hidden file. Although you can select these hidden files in the Workbook Contents screen, when you press the CTRL button and double- click the mouse, you will not be able to unhide the window for the hidden file, nor will the hidden file be displayed when you use the Workbook Contents buttons in the lower-right corner of the open workbook.
MORE INFORMATION
To unhide the file, do the following:
- From the Workbook Contents screen or any other visible file in the Workbook, choose Unhide from the Window menu.
- Select the file in the Unhide list and choose OK.
The file should appear and the file type icon will be displayed in the Workbook Contents screen.
To rehide the file, do the following:
- Activate the file that you want to hide.
- From the Window menu, choose Hide.
