1. Open the Microsoft Windows Control Panel. 2. Double-click the International icon. 3. Enter a slash (/) in the List Separator box. 4. Choose OK. 5. Start Microsoft Access and open the sample database NWIND.MDB. 6. Open the Categories table in Design view. 7. Add a new field to the table. Set the new field's data type to Date. 8. View the table in Datasheet view. You will be prompted to save the table. Choose OK to save the table. Note that nothing happens and you remain in Design view. 9. From the File menu, choose Close. You will be prompted to save the table. Choose Yes. Note that nothing happens. From the File menu, choose Save. Note that nothing happens. If you switch to Control Panel and change the List Separator back to a comma, the data types in Microsoft Access will be restored immediately. You do not need to quit and then restart Microsoft Access.
