Article ID: Q109295
Creation Date: 02-JAN-1994
Revision Date: 10-SEP-1996 The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Word for Windows, version 6.0
  • Microsoft Excel for Windows, version 5.0

SYMPTOMS

When you drag an object from Excel 5.0 for Windows into Word 6.0 for Windows, you can drop the object into a protected area of the document.

CAUSE

As expected, you can drag an object from Excel into an unprotected area of a Word document. However, if you drag the object from Excel into the results of a field in a protected area, the object is inserted immediately following the field. This can modify the protected area of a document.
