SYMPTOMS
After installing TCP/IP from the TCP/IP for Microsoft Windows for Workgroups diskette, you may receive these error messages:
CAUSE
These errors indicate that the TCP/IP installation did not complete properly and the driver name keywords were not added to the TCPUTILS.INI file.
RESOLUTION
You can either re-install TCP/IP for Windows for Workgroups, or add the missing driver names. To add them:
Open TCPUTILS.INI. It has this form:
[tcpglobal] username=USERNAME NetFiles=C:\WFW [sockets]
Insert the keywords in these positions:
[tcpglobal] drivername=GLOBAL$ username=USERNAME NetFiles=C:\WFW [sockets] drivername=SOCKETS$ [telnet] drivername=TELNET$
