SUMMARY
Hewlett-Packard printer drivers may cause problems with Microsoft Works 2.0 and 3.0 documents.
Some reported problems in Works 3.0 include:
- Causing the Word Processor to report the wrong page number at the bottom of the screen, or inserting a new page break when you press the SPACEBAR or ENTER key.
- Creating draw documents with no work area.
- The Print Preview screen shows no information.
- The Page Setup box may return the error message: “There is not enough memory to complete the operation. Try closing other documents before trying again.”
- After you create all the fields and click the Done button in a database, an “App unknown….Type 1” error message may display with the Deskwriter 310 version 1.01 printer driver. The same behavior occurs after restarting without extensions.
Some reported problems in Works 2.0 include:
- A corrupt Page Setup box.
- Works will crash when the Page Orientation is changed to Landscape in the Page Setup box.
NOTE: This is not a complete list of problems, there may be others.
RESOLUTION
The only known workaround is to print the document to another printer or upgrade to Microsoft Works for the Macintosh, version 4.0.
