SYMPTOMS

The Microsoft Press book “Microsoft Project Step by Step” includes a tutorial disk. When you attempt to run the Setup program on this disk, you may receive an error message asking you to insert Disk 1 into the disk drive.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if the disk does not have the proper DISK1 volume label.

RESOLUTION

To correct this problem, do the following:

  1. From the MS-DOS command prompt, type the following:

    LABEL A:DISK1

  2. Run the Setup program again.
