SYMPTOMS

You may receive the error message “Sorry, memory is too full to perform the operation” if you attempt to paste a range of cells from Excel into PowerPoint. This will occur if the width or height of the selection is too large for PowerPoint to fit in the application window. If you are running Windows with the standard VGA display driver, up to 71 rows or 16 columns of standard size can be pasted into PowerPoint before receiving the error message.

WORKAROUNDS

  1. Try changing your display driver to increase your Windows display resolution.

    -or-

  2. Reduce the row height or column width of the cells in your Excel spreadsheet before copying them to the clipboard.

    -or-

  3. Copy the cell range in sections as opposed to copying the entire range at once.
