SYMPTOMS

You may experience some problems when you upgrade your CPU on an existing Windows NT installation.

RESOLUTION

In most cases there should be no issue in upgrading a CPU, though there can be problems with incompatibility after the upgrade, even with a system on the Hardware Compatibility List. Be sure to test any CPU upgrade thoroughly on each platform before you attempt a large-scale upgrade. If problems arise, you may need to contact your hardware vendor to upgrade a system board or to follow other procedures they may suggest.
